At Avalon Healing Center, we know that healing happens through connection, compassion, and community. Every day, we see the difference that showing up for one another can make in the lives of survivors and their families.
Through our participation in SHARE Detroit’s Giving Every Tuesday initiative, we are reminded that generosity doesn’t have to happen just once a year. It can be found in the everyday acts of kindness, the partnerships that strengthen our community, and the people who continue to show up for those who need support.
For Avalon, our street outreach means meeting people where they are and recognizing that sometimes the most meaningful support begins with a simple act of kindness. Through our partnerships with The Medical Street Outreach Team, we work to reach survivors of human trafficking, provide essential items, connect individuals with critical resources, and offer compassionate, trauma-informed support. Every interaction is an opportunity to build trust and help someone access the care they deserve.
As we celebrate 20 years of serving survivors, we are especially grateful for the community partners, volunteers, and supporters who make this work possible. Their generosity helps us extend our reach and reminds us that we are stronger when we work together.
Giving is more than a donation. It’s showing up, building connections, and making sure no one feels alone.
