“I Am Somebody” is more than a poem — it is a reflection of survival, healing, resilience, and the power of shared voices. 💜
Created during Sexual Assault Awareness Month at Avalon Healing Center, this collective poem was written by survivors and those who walk alongside them. Each line holds space for the many ways healing can look and reminds us that no one’s journey is exactly the same.
This annual tradition honors not only what survivors have carried, but what continues to be reclaimed — voice, identity, boundaries, and self.
We are honored to share “I Am Somebody” with our community, because every survivor deserves to be seen, heard, and reminded: I am somebody.
