Avalon Healing Center hosted a Vegas style Casino Night fundraiser event on Saturday, February 15th, 2025, at our Detroit healing center located at 601 Bagley Street. We invited community partners, major donors, prospective donors, and campaign cabinet members. This event helped support the services and programming for survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking.
Avalon Healing Center is the largest and most comprehensive sexual assault and anti-trafficking center in Michigan, right in the heart of Detroit. Founded in 2006, Avalon has served over 25,000 individuals!
At Avalon we are dedicated to ensuring that services are available to individuals following a traumatic experience that include comprehensive medical-forensic healthcare, traditional & non-traditional healing modalities/therapies as well as a diverse array of education, advocacy and basic needs.

Our Casino Night was an absolute blast, and we hope to make it an annual tradition! Despite an intimidating weather forecast and snowfall, we were pleasantly surprised to welcome 60 attendees to the event. The evening included a short program highlighting the mission and vision of Avalon Healing Center, as well as the public introduction of our Capital Campaign Cabinet members. Guests enjoyed music and a lively casino experience with 10 tables featuring poker, craps, blackjack, and roulette, adding excitement and energy to the night.
We were treated to an incredible selection of sweet desserts from SweetSoul, BonBonBon, and Nothing Bundt Cakes, along with expertly crafted spirits from Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Beyond the delicious treats, the evening was filled with cherished networking opportunities and the chance to engage with different aspects of our work—all thanks to our incredible team. It was a night of learning, play, and connection that we won’t soon forget!
Thanks to you all, your sponsorships and donations totaled $55,092 which helped cover costs of the event and enabled us to engage with the community, new donors and new success!
